Drs. Margaret and Robert Weiss began practicing dermatology in 1982. Partner Karen Beasley, M.D. joined the practice in 2000. Our practice also includes a team of licensed nurse practitioners and physician assistants to assist in providing the highest quality care. We specialize in anti-aging cosmetic procedures including BOTOX® CosmeticThermage, Liposuction, laser resurfacing, skin tightening, microdermabrasion, and filler injection. Our practice has only board-certified dermatologists as its physicians. Our specialty training was in dermatology. Our continuing medical education is in dermatology and dermatologic surgery. We are dedicated to providing our patients with the highest standards of dermatologic care.

Robert Weiss, M.D.

Image related to Dr. Robert A. Weiss became President of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) in 2008.
He completed a three year residency in dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University after graduating from Columbia University and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Additional fellowship training at the National Institutes of Health in dermatologic research followed. Board-certified, he has been a featured speaker for the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery for many years, as well as speaking to many other national and international audiences and has received numerous awards. A prolific author, Dr. Weiss is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins. He has helped to prepare the rigorous examinations used to certify physician specialists through the American Board of Dermatology. He served as Treasurer of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and was President of the American College of Phlebology (formerly the North American Society of Phlebology) from 1996 to 1998. He is a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He has published extensively on many subjects, especially varicose vein treatment, sclerotherapy, lasers, and cosmetic dermatology surgery. His expertise on these topics has led to his appearances on many TV shows such as "20/20" and "The Today Show." One of his many textbooks is "Vein Diagnosis & Treatment: A Comprehensive Approach," published by McGraw-Hill in 2001.

Margaret Weiss, M.D.

Dr. Margaret A. Weiss is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she attended medical school and completed her dermatology residency. Prior to that, she attended Princeton University. Board-certified, she is a member of the leading society in the field of venous diseases, the American College of Phlebology, and is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Her teaching and publications in the field of sclerotherapy of leg veins have led to numerous interviews and TV appearances, including "Good Morning, America" and "Health Week" on PBS. Dr. Weiss' other interests include laser surgery , and cosmetic dermatology such as BotoxCosmetic®, and filler injections. She has served as President of the Maryland Dermatologic Society. She coauthored her textbook, "Vein Diagnosis & Treatment: A Comprehensive Approach," published by McGraw-Hill in 2001, with Drs. Robert Weiss and Craig Feied.

Karen Beasley, M.D.

Image related to Dr. Karen L. Beasley, a native of the State of Maryland, completed her bachelor’s degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. After internship in internal medicine at Penn State, she completed three years of specialized dermatology training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Beasley is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Phlebology. She lectures both locally and nationally on aesthetic dermatology issues. Dr. Beasley has trained extensively in cosmetic treatments and laser surgery, including skin rejuvenation techniques, treatment with Botox® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Juvederm®, and other filling agents, as well as, the treatment of spider veins and varicose veins. Her practice includes comprehensive skin care evaluations and skin cancer screenings, intense pulsed light therapy, over 30 different lasers, sclerotherapy, endovenous laser closure and ambulatory phlebectomy of varicose veins, and chemical peel treatments. Dr. Beasley’s academic affiliation is with the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology. She founded the Resident Cosmetic Dermatology clinic where she instructs the residents on the latest techniques of aesthetic dermatology. She also instructs other physicians how to administer Botox® Cosmetic safely and effectively as a member of the National Botox® Education Faculty. In addition to teaching, she is also active in research and clinical trials within the practice.

Girish Munavalli, M.D.

Dr. Girish Munavalli
Dr. Gilly Munavalli is board certified in dermatology as well as fellowship-trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatology surgery at the University of California-San Francisco. He is on the part-time faculty at the Johns Hopkins U. School of Medicine. His previous degrees include: Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Masters of Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins-Bloomberg School of Public Health, Doctorate of Medicine from Morehouse Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia, and internship training at the Mayo Clinic. He completed his dermatology residency training at Emory University School of Medicine. In addition to his training at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Munavalli has deep ties to the Maryland community. He grew up in Bel Air where he attended C. Milton Wright High School. Utilizing self-taught skills in handheld and desktop computer software and hardware design, he has cofounded two medical software development organizations to enhance education in the field of dermatology. He lectures widely and has numerous publications. While his primary focus is skin cancer treatment in Charlotte, NC, Dr. Munavalli continues to teach part-time at Johns Hopkins and care for patients at MDLSVI.
