This 694 nm Q-switched laser targets pigment in the skin to lighten brown spots and tattoos. It can also be used on certain brown birthmarks. Each pulse feels like the snap of a hot rubber band. Treated areas turn darker and then peel after a few days. More than one treatment may be necessary. It can also be used in a different way to remove hair.
